Rapper MC Hammer, was arrested over the weekend and took to Twitter to explain. The police responded with their own brief account of what happened in a suburban Bay Area shopping center.

"He had expired registration on a vehicle that was not registered to him. He
refused to give the officer any information on the owner. MC Hammer became very argumentative and continued to refuse to answer any questions about the vehicle," according to the police statement on KGO7.
