Will Nicki Minaj last as a judge on American Idol? Producers of the show are already tired of her Diva antics. Now that she cussed out fellow Judge Mariah Carey during the North Carolina auditions, producers are just about fed up. Minaj and Carey have downplayed rumors of unrest between the two. But, after video came out showing Minaj and Carey going at it, it's clear the two are not getting along. The American Idol crew is not feeling Minaj either with her lateness and Diva Antics. The crew feel she is not worth it. Minaj is starting to look like a fool. Carey is getting paid $18 million for this gig. By acting a fool before the season starts in January, Minaj could hurt her career.

Can Bobbi Kris handle her money? According to grandmom Cissy Houston, she can’t. Bobbi Kris was the sole beneficiary of her mother Whitney Houston's fortune, but Cissy feels that Bobbi Kris is under negative influences. Since her mother's death, Bobbi Kris has been close to her play brother Nick Gordon, who is now her boyfriend. Cissy has asked a judge to put Bobbi Kris’s money in a trust fund. Apparently, Cissy wants the money to last Bobbi Kris for her long-term financial security.

In more Whitney Houston news, get ready for tributes to her this fall. First up, the 18-track tribute album, I Will Always Love You: The Best Of Whitney Houston, comes out November 13th. The coffee table book, Whitney: Tribute To An Icon, comes out November 27th. The Lifetime network presents their TV special remembering Whitney Houston, which will feature home videos and interviews with mom Cissy Houston, brother Gary, daughter Bobbi Kris and sister-in-law Pat Houston. On October 24th, the Houston's reality show, On Our Own debuts on Lifetime. On November 16th, it’s a Grammy Salute To Whitney Houston, with Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Usher, that will air on CBS.

Former Football Star Michael Strahan wants to downplay any strife in his private life now that he has taken the job as co-host of Live With Kelly And Michael. Last week, there were reports that his relationship with Nicole Murphy, Eddie Murphy's ex-wife, was on the rocks. The two are now brushing off reports of trouble in their relationship. Their combined families are very close. Despite the fact that he lives on the east coast during the week and she lives on the west coast, they are committed to each other. They recently purchased a new home in Bel-Air, California.

Mike Tyson has been added to the cast of Scary Movie V.

Richard Williams is a dad again. Williams, 70, is the dad to Tennis Sensations Venus and Serena Williams. Williams and his 33-year old wife recently welcome a new son who was born in late August. Williams divorced his older daughters' mom, Oracene, ten years ago.

Is the third time going to be the charm for Janet Jackson? Jackson has been dating a rich Arab businessman, Wissam Al Mana, for the past two years. According to published reports, a $3 million wedding is being planned for next year, and the guest list already has over 500 people. In other Jackson news, Michael's oldest son, Prince Michael, celebrated his 16th birthday with the purchase of a $90,000 Cadillac Escalade.

Sherri Shepherd of the The View wants to expand her family. I hear she’s looking for a surrogate. The 45-year old comedienne and TV hostess has a 7-year old son with her former husband. Now that she is married again, Shepherd wants to have another child, and a surrogate may be the way to go.

Usher says the days of freeloading are over. Usher wants his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, to leave their Georgia home. He has given her 60 days notice to get out of his home so he can sell the property. Foster has had no income since her divorce from Usher, and she has been dependent on him since their split. This has been a rough year for Foster. In addition  to losing custody of her sons to Usher, her 11-year old son, Kile Glover, was killed in a tragic jet ski accident.

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins from the music group TLC is getting her own reality show. The show, Totally T-Boz, will air on the TLC network and debuts next year. The 42-year old single mom is trying to jump start her career after having a brain tumor removed from her head. Filming is happening in Atlanta and will feature her daughter and her brother.

Tyler Perry is on the cover of the latest issue of Essence magazine and his new movie, the detective thriller Alex Cross, opens in theatres October 19th. His latest Madea movie, Madea's Witness Protection, comes out on DVD on the 23rd. Perry recently announced a new partnership with Oprah Winfrey and her OWN cable network. Perry will be producing scripted shows on Winfrey's network. All of his new shows will be on the OWN while his previous shows Meet The Browns, House Of Payne and For Better Or Worse will remain on the TBS cable network. Perry was considering starting his own network, but he decided in the end it was easier to team with Oprah and her network. The Mighty O has been busy. She has been filming the Lee Daniels' movie The Butler. That film is about Eugene Allen, a man who was a service worker at The White House for eight presidents. The movie also stars Forest Whitaker, Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Jane Fonda. Winfrey also shares the cover of Forbes magazine with fellow Billionaires Warren Buffett and Bill Gates for The 400 Richest People In America issue. The Mighty O cracked Forbes top 200 as a media mogul.

Whoopi Goldberg is doing a guest turn on the new ABC show 666 Park Avenue. Goldberg will join regular cast member Vanessa Williams on the supernatural drama in December.

Bow Wow has been named one of the new hosts of BET’s 106 & Park. Bow Wow will be joining new comers Paigion, Shorty Da Prince and Miss Mykie.

Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez (TV entertainment show Extra) have been named the new hosts of Simon Cowell's talent show The X-Factor. They'll make their debut in November.

We remember Singer Joe Little of The Rude Boys. In the 90’s, The Rude Boys topped the charts with the song Written All Over Your Face, which was produced by their mentor, the late Gerald Levert. Little, a Cleveland, Ohio native, died at the age of 44 after being hospitalized for severe cramping.

Singer John Legend has postponed his fall tour. Legend says he has to finish work on his latest album, which is coming out next year.

The ESPN network is known for their excellent documentaries, and their latest is no exception. 30 For 30: Broke highlights sports athletes who have blown their fortunes. In one segment, they feature former Boston Celtic Player Antoine Walker. He blew $110 million in a two-year span. He says he blew the money on women and toys. He also says bad real estate deals did him in on top of spending over $2 million on friends.

Get ready for Black Girls Rock. This year's honorees include Alicia Keys, Kerry Washington, Susan L. Taylor and Dionne Warwick. The show airs Sunday, November 4th on BET. Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King are returning as hosts. Performers include Brandy and Keyshia Cole.



 

Rapper/Actor LL Cool J is mourning the loss of his dad, James Nunya, who died last week at the age of 65. LL is currently starring on the CBS show NCIS: Los Angeles.

Kerry Washington and Columbus Short return to ABC-TV. They star in the second season of the Shonda Rhimes drama Scandal airing Thursdays at 10pm.

Get ready for the greatest hits of Destiny's Child. The group, which consisted of Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Beyonce before separating for solo careers, is celebrating their 15th anniversary. Greatest Hits arrives in stores October 15th.

Jennifer Hudson says she would like to portray The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin if a bio-pic were to be made. Franklin has been working hard to make the project happen. The Queen says she's working with Producer/Director Taylor Hackford (Ray, Dreamgirls) on a story treatment so the project can move to the script phase. She and Hackford are still talking about Halle Berry, Hudson and Broadway Star Audra McDonald as contenders to play the music legend.

Happy anniversary to Singer Chaka Khan. Khan is celebrating 40 years in the music business. The 60-year old icon is planning on releasing a new album plus go on tour. She is also coming out with a line of
chocolates and a new fragrance line.

NeNe Leakes is on a roll. The new season of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta kicks off Sunday, November 4th. She is also one of the stars of the NBC show The New Normal, and she is featured with that show's cast in the latest issue of Vogue.

Smokey Robinson is lending his voice to a new clean water campaign part of his Smoke Alarm charity work. He’s teamed up with Proctor & Gamble and his celebrity friends with a new water purification packet he’s promoting with through twitter and facebook. Robinson, known as The Mayor Of Motown, wants to bring clean drinking water to impoverished areas worldwide.

Cedric The Entertainer will be hosting the Soul Train Awards, which will air on the BET and Centric networks on Sunday, November 25th. New Edition is getting a Lifetime Achievement Award. R Kelly has been nominated for Album Of The Year, and he's also up for the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter Of The Year Award. Other nominees include Usher, Estelle and John Legend.

The late Sherman Hemsley's embalmed body is still being refrigerated in El Paso, Texas as a court is reviewing a claim against his estate. On one side is Flora Enchinton who is named as sole beneficiary of the estate worth over $50,000 in a will signed weeks before Hemsley's death. Enchinton says she's been the late actor's friend and manager for more than two decades. On the other side is Robert Thornton of Philadelphia. Thornton claims to be Hemsley's brother, and he says the will isn't authentic. A Texas court has ordered Thornton to take a DNA test by October so a hearing can take place. The 74-year old Hemsley was best known for having two successful sitcoms in a row playing “George Jefferson” in The Jeffersons (1975-1985) and “Deacon Ernest Frye” in Amen (1986-1991). The actor died in July of lung cancer.

Denzel Washington graces the latest edition of GQ magazine. Washington has two big projects on the horizon. His movie Flight, with Don Cheadle and John Goodman, opens in theatres in early November. Washington's second film is 2 Guns with Mark Wahlberg comes out next year. In a recent interview, Singer Al Green says if a movie were to be made about his life, he would love for Washington to play him on the big screen.

Jill Scott has a new TV movie coming to Lifetime. It's a remake of the 1989 movie Steel Magnolias. Scott stars along with Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard and Phylicia Rashad. The movie airs on Lifetime October 7th. Also this weekend on the Lifetime network, Keke Palmer and Sherri Shepherd star in the movie The Carlina White Story. The movie about the kidnapping of a baby in New York in the 80’s. That story made headlines around the world as years later the baby would grow up and learn the truth. The movie airs Saturday, the 6th at 8pm and Sunday the 7th at 7pm on Lifetime.

In more magazine reading, Actress Gabrielle Union is on the cover of this month’s Ebony magazine. Her new BET show is called Being Mary Jane. On the show, Union plays a news anchor balancing career and her personal life while looking for Mr. Right. Being Mary Jane is produced by Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the husband and wife team behind The Game.

Singer Keyshia Cole is the cover girl for the latest edition of Hype magazine.

The BET Hip Hop Awards air on Tuesday, October 9th on BET. Mike Epps will be hosting. Kanye West leads the pack with 17 nominations. Legendary MC Rakim from Eric B & Rakim is getting a special award that night.

Apollo Live is the Centric network's singing reality show, and it kicks off Saturday, December 1st. Comedian Tony Rock will be hosting and the judges include Gladys Knight, Michael Bivins, and Doug E Fresh.

Speaking of The Empress Of Soul, Gladys Knight is also part of the ensemble for one of the two sitcoms being produced by comedian Byron Allen. The sitcom The First Family is about an African American First Family in the White House. Christopher B. Duncan (The Jamie Foxx Show) and Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show) play the President and First Lady. Also starring are Gladys Knight, Marla Gibbs, Jackee Harry and John Witherspoon. The second Allen-produced show is Mr. Box Office with Bill Bellamy, Vivica A. Fox, Jon Lovitz and Keshia Knight Pulliam. Bellamy plays an A-List movie star who is sentenced to community service teaching at an underprivileged high school. The First Family and Mr. Box Office both air weekends on CW and MyNetwork stations.

Speaking of Vivica Fox, she has a second show coming to the Lifetime network. Prank My Mom premieres October 9th at 10pm.

Vivian Green has a new CD Green Room coming out October 9th.

On November 16th, Spike TV is doing a tribute special to Eddie Murphy celebrating his 30-year career. Eddie Murphy: One Night Only will feature his work in film, musical performances and sketch comedy.  

Look for R Kelly and Tamia on tour together. Kelly says his next CD, Black Panties, is coming out next year. Tamia's new CD is called Beautiful Surprise, which is also the name of her latest hit single.

It’s a new baby boy and a second season for Mary Mary. Tina Campbell recently gave birth to her son Santana. Tina and her sister Erica will return December 13th to the WE network for their reality series Mary Mary.

Singer Kem is getting ready for the holidays. He has a new CD, What Christmas Means, coming out in October.

Singer Anita Baker is back. Her CD, Only Forever, is coming out this fall featuring the first single Lately, a cover of the Tyrese song.

Jamie Foxx returns to the big screen this December in the Quentin Tarantino’s film Django. The movie, about a former slave turned bounty hunter trying to rescue his wife from slavery, also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington. Foxx has also signed on for the movie White House Down with Channing Tatum. Foxx will play the President Of The United States, who is taken hostage in the White House.

Get ready for All The King’s Men. It’s a new tour with Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp
and Israel Houghton.

On November 9th, it’s the movie LUV. The film stars Common, Megan Good, Charles Dutton and Dennis Haysbert.
